"The Fastest Guitar in the Country!" and much, much more Combining groovy music with cruising was always car designer's mind - but perhaps not in this in-your-face way? - This is the "Fastest Guitar in the Country" by Jimmy Bryant - which comes with an LP record (image via) Designed by George Barris, the Voxmobile was not only a promotion vehicle for Vox audio equipment, but a full-blown mobile concert stage complete with a keyboard and a powerful amplifier! Speaking of the "music-mobiles", this one is the creation of Harrod Blank (whom we featured in previous installments of this series; remember the "Camera van"?) Called the "Pico De Gallo", this wonder "bug" also comes with keyboards, drums, guitars, trumpets and a concert stage on top - and it is part of the Ripley's Believe It Or Not collection of strange vehicles: (images via) Another wonderful relic of the groovy 1960s era is the legendary Monkeemobile (first designed by Dean Jeffries in 1966, and only later modified by George Barris): (image credit: Barrett-Jackson) Dean Jeffries also built this awesome space-age car - more info (image via) Going Low, Low... Gone! Did that car get squashed by an elephant, or is it an unfortunate victim of vicious automobile designers? - This is the Flatmobile, made by the Perriwinkle Customs: (images via) Even lower? - Another low-rider that takes that "low" to completely another level, is this wonderful "Rat Rod": The Bunk Bed! - supercharged, with 600 hp on tap! This beautiful "piece of furniture" was made by the legendary George Barris custom car designer (the creator of the original Batmobile) - more info: (images via) From the same batch also comes an insect-like replica of the the famous 'Bugaloos Buggy' by George Barris: (images via) Belonging to the same furniture-car category is this "Pool Table Car" - a 100 mph vehicle creation by Triangle Billiards, Inc. and Big Daddy Vini, a.k.a. The Kustomizer - more info: (image via) This seems comfortable! Even in our day and age this 1960s custom van would attract attention from campers and lovers of all things futuristic... Today you can order an updated version of it called the Sportsmobile: Here is another cool 1960s "hippie camper van" idea: Hemi Vans! Great idea - They are not stupid.
