"QUANTUM SHOT" #845(2) Link - article by Avi Abrams High Visual Drama & Creativity (Targeting You and Your Money) Today, in page two of this issue, we'll show the best print ads, the ones which are simply impossible to ignore. Not only these campaigns are unique in idea and presentation, but they all got that visual kick, that sense of hidden story, and drama which is required in successful ads nowadays (if they stand any chance of distracting us from our own equally intense and dramatic real lives...) We will start with this stunner, showing the "Deep History" below the Moscow State University 1950s skyscraper: (this image, and most others in this article, via Ads of the World) On a much lighter note... Iggy Pop encounters a little too much lemon: The Estonian Blood Bank says: "Life is not a movie, we can't fake blood" - This one is almost a masterpiece (and tells a whole story). "He who seeks will always find" - from Getty Stock images. Brilliant. - This is a great visual idea: sound waves doubling up as barbed wire (alarm systems) - Somewhat funny scene, featuring the Super Glue: This is slightly creepy, but sure to grab your attention: 'Reveal your inner athlete" - What a concept: defeat your own weight! - The Perfect Mix, "no matter the ingredients": Here is another groovy mix; this time mixing "heads, and ideas" of different workers in this web design company: And this is one of the most creative ads... with very unusual point-of-view. This is an ad for "Hot Wheels", showing the eye of the father who clearly admires this car - "Make Daddy Jealous": Now, the dessert! The funniest screw-ups in advertisements. As translated from Russian, the sign on the left: "Steer clear of these areas which produce children!" (we are sure they did not mean any reproductive body part, though for some people, this advice will still stand...) - The lettering on the right photo above says "DO NOT STEAL", or even better, "Do not try to pick this up". In both versions the ugly object shown above has very little chance to get picked up, or stolen. Now, this version of Putin we like: This lovely Little Mermaid is advertising... shoes: All you really need is... Plov (a rice dish). And on the bottom image you read: "Buy from us, because next door you'll get screwed even more than here". "No entry" - except for "alcohol-bearing trucks". Very practical signage, indeed... On the right is entirely legit kid's playground place, except for a certain bear character: Do not embarrass this Spiderman, turn, turn away... - "Imagine the car to the inspection"? We'll try to imagine it quickly clearing this customs office, too. On the frightening image next (left, below) Victoria offers "an ocean of fish-based positive emotions" in her seafood store... sure... On the right billboard: the ice cream simply attracts the nose off your face: GO TO PAGE 1 OF THIS ARTICLE -> Also Read Creative Ads, Issue 14 -> Check out the rest of the "COOLEST ADS" series -> |
